Conductor

CORY PEDERSON

Cory has been the conductor of the Columbia River Symphony since the 2015-2016 season. He is the music teacher in the Jewell School District. He directs concert band, ensembles, and choir and teaches all levels of general music. He is also the instructor of brass, woodwinds and percussion at the Astoria Conservatory of Music.

Trumpet being his main instrument for twenty-four years, Cory currently performs with the North Coast Symphonic Band, the North Coast Big Band, and the North Coast Chamber Players. He has played in the percussion section of the North Oregon Coast Symphony. Cory also conducts the Little Ballet Theater Orchestra Nutcracker production in Astoria. His career includes work with five different ensembles in school, and community groups and participation with the Vancouver Symphony and the IWASH (Idaho Washington) Symphony.
